Why I chose the name Spica Healing

Star Spica in the night sky

The Star Spica – A Celestial Origin for Healing

When I chose the name Spica Healing, I wasn’t just reaching for something that sounded poetic. I was reaching for the stars. Literally.

The name Spica whispered to me in various ways. It was a sign. At first, I didn’t know why. But when I learned that Spica is a star of immense power and ancient significance. It wasn’t random. That’s when it clicked. Spica isn’t just a star. It’s a frequency.

The star Spica, the brightest point in the constellation Virgo, has long been associated with abundance, healing, and divine feminine energy. Its celestial story, steeped in mythology and mysticism, resonates deeply with the healing journey I offer through Spica Healing.

It’s called the harvest star, guiding those who serve others with heart and precision. It doesn’t shout. It shines with grace. That’s why I named my work Spica Healing.

What Is Spica?

Spica is a brilliant blue-white binary star system, around 260 light-years away from Earth. It's the brightest star in Virgo, a constellation historically linked to goddesses of fertility, harvest, and healing like Isis, Demeter, and Astraea.

Ancient civilizations—Babylonians, Greeks, Romans, and Egyptians recognized Spica's brilliance. For some, it marked the timing of harvests; for others, it represented the sacred "ear of wheat" held in Virgo’s hand, symbolizing sustenance, rebirth, and the cycles of life.

Why Spica and Healing?

There’s something profoundly restorative about Spica’s energy. It’s steady, radiant, and guiding—like a quiet beacon in the night sky. In astrology, Spica is considered a fortunate fixed star, often linked to artistic gifts, intuition, spiritual insight, and protection.

These qualities mirror the intention behind the healing modalities I offer:

  • Reiki: Restoring balance and life force, like nurturing the body’s inner garden.

  • Animal Healing: Tuning into gentle, intuitive energies animals naturally understand.

  • Switchwords: Using vibrational language, much like ancient chants or star frequencies.

  • Egyptian Cartouche Healing: Channelling archetypes that echo the divine blueprint of cosmic order, something Spica has symbolized for millennia.

Just like the star, Spica Healing exists to illuminate, nourish, and guide you gently home to yourself.

A Sacred Thread Through Time

To me, Spica represents the eternal wisdom of nature and spirit. It’s the silent watcher in the sky, reminding us that healing isn’t about fixing what’s broken—it’s about remembering what has always been whole within us.

When we reconnect with this wholeness, whether through energy healing, spiritual guidance, or simply pausing to listen to ourselves, we begin to move with the rhythm of the cosmos again. And that rhythm is where peace lives.

Your Healing Journey, Star-Lit

When you book a session with Spica Healing, you're not just receiving a technique—you’re stepping into a lineage of wisdom, intuition, and light that stretches far beyond the visible. You’re aligning with something ancient, sacred, and uniquely yours.

Because healing, like starlight, travels across time to reach you exactly when you need it.

Much Love,

Charmaine
